1. Introduction

Welcome to AU Journey. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: Your AU email address and basic profile information when you sign in using Microsoft Authentication (Entra ID).
Authentication Tokens: Access tokens issued by Microsoft to keep you signed in. These are stored securely on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
Location Data: Used only for navigation and routing features. It is not stored or shared.
Achievements: Your badge progress is stored locally on your device for your own tracking.

3. Authentication (Microsoft Entra ID)

AU Journey uses Microsoft Authentication (Entra ID) for sign-in by Assumption University students and staff.
We do not access or store your password. Authentication is handled by Microsoft.
Access tokens are stored securely on your device (Keychain) and are not transmitted to our servers.

4. Web Content & Caching

AU Journey may use a WebView to display campus maps or other pages. We may cache some content locally for faster loading and offline use. This cached data does not include personal information and remains on your device.

5. External Links (GitHub Pages)

AU Journey may open pages hosted outside the app (for example, the Coach timetable hosted on GitHub Pages). When you open these pages, the external site may receive standard information such as your IP address and browser/OS details required to serve the page. We do not collect or store personal information from these external pages. Please review the external site’s privacy policy for how they handle data.

6. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide core app features such as navigation and badge collection. We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising or analytics.

7. Third-Party Services

Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD): Provides authentication for AU accounts. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
three.js (if used): An open-source 3D library. It does not collect or process personal data.

8. Data Security

Your data stays on your device. We do not upload or store your personal data on our servers. Authentication tokens are kept in the iOS Keychain where available.

Important: Your achievements are stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, all collected achievements will be permanently lost. AU Journey does not currently provide cloud sync or backup for achievements.

9. Beta / Preview Features

Some features (e.g., Coach live tracking) may be marked as “Beta” while we complete hardware and service integrations. These features follow the same privacy practices described in this policy and do not collect additional personal data. Functionality may change as we improve the service.

10. No Ads or Tracking

AU Journey does not include advertisements and does not use analytics or cross-app tracking tools.
